Grenoble is a French city surrounded by the Alps moutains, well known for its rich associative life, lots of alternative people are living down there and many of them dumpster food.
There are plenty of small and middle size shops in the backyards of which you can find food as well as other people looking for food.
There is a collective called AMAR (Action pour un MOUVEMENT vers une AGRICULTURE de RECUPERATION) that organizes food collecting from organic and other shops three times a week. Collective members always clean food afterwards, and then sort it out to give it to those in need, Food Not Bombs style, all free, helping people to discover dumpster diving, teaching society to avoid tons of food waste. Mostly using pedal power and trailers for collections.
