Vendors' feelings about dumpster divers

Vendors seemed friendly and generous. Nearby shop owners as well are friendly. Individual experience suggests vendors are willing to give out their leftovers when they see dumpster divers.

Local Relations

Personal experiences

The best part was, when we were dumpstering at the corner of a veggie market, vendors handed us a big box of veggies they were about to throw away. Christmas spirit, the benefits of having 2 pretty girls along, or just a general support of "using" instead of "wasting"? You be the judge. According to Caroline

TLog - Trash Log

On Dec 22, 2008 Angie, Caroline and Ethan got about 30 pounds (15 kilos) of fruit and veggies, including a dozen clementines, many potatoes, 5 mangoes, 2 GIANT and many smaller carrots, grapes and strawberries, tomatoes, avocados, a basil plant, a bulb of fennel, a box of beautiful mushrooms, and peppers upon peppers upon peppers. We were handed several items by market vendors and shop keepers, including 4 boxes of pork which we left behind for someone else to find.
