Bømlo is an island in Hordaland county, Norway. At 171 square kilometres (66 sq mi), it is the largest island in the island municipality Bømlo lying just off the western coast of Norway.

Every Monday and Thursday, the local Frelsesarmeen (Salvation Army) is collecting the expired foods from local stores and distributing them weekdays on Bømlo and a neighbor island all free of charge with the help of volunteers.
